Today your student should come home wtih an opt out form regarding Erin's Law, Save Act, and the Bullying Prevention Program requirements in Louisiana. The SAVE Act is for grades 6-12 so no CES student will be participating in this program. Bullying Prevention will be addressed in October and Erin's Law will be addressed in December. If you would like the instructional materials or videos sent to you to preview prior to the lessons, Mrs. O'Neal is happy to email any or all of it to you. If you would send your email to your child's teacher we are happy to send the information home.

What a great week back we had at CES. PreK and Kindergarten students started this week. Pete the cat led them on a chase that ended with a sweet snack. Cross Country practice has started and our students are preparing for race season. Mrs. Washam has started STEM lessons. Mrs. O'Neal has met with her first set of classes for Life Skills lessons. This month's life skill focuses on our Aug/Sept. Character Trait of Responsibility. They read "The Bad Seed" by Jory John (K-2) and "I Can't Find My Whatacamacallit" By Julia Cook (3-5). Remember to have your carline tag visible for carline. If you need more, Mrs .Patty is happy to give you more. Also, if there is ever a change in transportation, please call the office before 1:30.

Pre-K & Kindergarten parents, On your child's 1st day of school, we are allowing parents to walk with their student to class. We ask that all students be in class and say their goodbyes by 7:50. Parking is an issue at CES. Please park down Walker Road on the same side of the road as the playground or in the back parking lot. On Friday, all students will ride the bus or go through carline. We will have plenty of people to help your child find where they need to go. It will be a great day!!! 1st-5th graders: Just a reminder that our first cross country practice and parent meeting is today, Sunday, August 18th from 6-7pm at CHS track! Bring your water! We can’t wait to see you! Tomorrow is the day, we are so excited to see our 1st-5th grade Aggies! School hours are 7:50 am -3:15 pm. Carline and breakfast will begin at 7:20. If you plan for your child to eat breakfast, please have him/her here by 7:40am. Dismissal begins at 3:15 pm. Please be patient with beginning of school carline. We have new families learning arrival and dismissal procedures.

Parents, If you are coming to Prep Day today, Hwy 80 right in front of the school is still under construction. Arena Road is open and you can come down carline and park in front of the school or in the back parking lot.

Parents, We are aware that the QR code is telling you dates are not available to sign up for your meet the teacher testing day. We are working on it now and will send out a message when the QR code is corrected. You will be able to use the same QR code. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused.

Prep day paperwork will be available Thursday after 2:00 at the front door. Grades 1-5 will turn their paperwork in on Monday, August 12 and PreK and K can turn theirs in when they come to meet the teacher at their scheduled time . To be eligible for the Skip the Carline for a Year Drawing, all paperwork must be turned in and school fees paid by the 1st day of school. We will have the drawing, Monday, August 26. Welcome Kindergarten Aggies, We are looking forward to a great school year. Letters were mailed out today with information about kindergarten meet the teacher and testing days. This year kindergarten students will come on their scheduled testing day, take a picture, meet the teacher, turn in all paperwork, and see their classroom on August 15, 16, or 19. One more reminder kindergarten boys' first day is August 21, kindergarten girls' first day is August 22 and all kindergarteners will come on Friday, August 23. If you do not receive your letter by Monday, August 12 please call the office.

Welcome PreK Aggies! Your child's pre-k teacher will be calling you this week. Please contact the school if you have not received a phone call by Monday, August 12. Our teachers will be happy to answer any of your questions. When the teachers call, they will schedule a day for you to come with your child to meet the teacher, see your classroom, bring school supplies, and fill out forms while your child takes a short skills assessment. We look forward to meeting all of you.

This year we will practice Sunday and Tuesday evenings from 6-7pm alternating Choudrant track and the Gospel. The first practice will be Sunday August 18th.
