This is a reminder that we are looking for parents to help tomorrow at 9:00am to paint hopscotch, 4 square and a few other games on our basketball courts and sidewalks. I’m hoping to be finished by 11. Any help would be appreciated.
A list of students that made the CES basketball teams will be posted on the front door at 4:00 today.
Thanks, Mrs. Martin
If your 5th or 6th grade child is trying out for our girls’ basketball team today, pick up is at 4:30. Please come to the front of the school by way of Walker Road. Arena road gate will be locked.
I realize that with adding 80 students this year that our carline in the morning is bumper to bumper from 7:20-7:45. To allow for the increase in students, it has been approved to back up our tardy bell to 7:50. We believe this will give our students plenty of time to get to class. I would also like to assure everyone that ALL students are offered breakfast. No one is ever turned away from eating breakfast that wants to eat. I have made arrangements for all grade levels to give time for students to eat in the mornings. I hope this will help your morning be a little less stressful. Starting tomorrow carline will be from 7:20-7:50.
Sincerely, Mrs. Martin
A few reminders for the upcoming week….
Basketball tryouts for 5th & 6th grade boys will be Tuesday immediately after school until 4:30.
5th & 6th grade girls will tryout on Thursday immediately after school until 4:30. All tryouts will be closed to parents.
Uniform reminders as the weather cools off:
No holes or rips in jeans
Leggings must be worn with a mid thigh length top
I look forward to seeing all of you tomorrow.
Fundraiser orders not done online are due tomorrow by noon. Please have the child’s name on the front of the packet.
Just a reminder, 4-H membership fees can be paid online through the school website. No cash is excepted at the school. Attached is a link for this. If
you cannot pay online, checks can be mailed to Lincoln Parish 4-H office @ 307 North Homer St., Ruston, LA 71227.
Last 2 days for our fundraiser. We are raising money for playground equipment. We have already raised over $14,000 but it’s not quite enough to buy what we want for our students. I appreciate all who have donated and sold so far.
Bus 38 broke down and they sent another bus for him. He is now starting his route. No students who ride the bus will be marked tardy. Also, all bus riders WILL be able to eat breakfast. I apologize for the inconvenience.
Are you interested in subbing at Choudrant Elementary? We would love to have you support our school and get paid doing it. You do have to apply through the schoolboard but after you are approved you can select the schools where you want to work. Just go to the lincolnschools.org and select the menu tab and then select jobs.
PTC sent home fundraiser packets this week. We are wanting to raise money for more playground equipment. We ask that students don’t sale door to door to strangers. If you sale online there is nothing to turn in and the company counts for prizes. If you have any orders not online please turn in the form and money on Oct.3.
It’s Fall fundraiser time. Your child will come home today or tomorrow with the packet of items we will be selling. The money raised will help the PTC purchase playground equipment. We are excited about this sale and how it can help our school. All items will be in before Thanksgiving break if you want any items for Christmas presents.
Wow, everyone had a carline tag visible to duty teachers and it went so smoothly. We appreciate you!!
Also, effective tomorrow if your child arrives on time, breakfast will be available. We will not close breakfast at 7:35 anymore.
This afternoon carline was a little slow because many cars did not have their carline tags in view for the duty teachers. Please remember, this is a safety issue and no child will be put in the car without a nametag effective Monday. This will help carline flow quickly and smoothly. Again, this is ONLY about your child's safety
Cross Country Reminder:
Practice will be at The Gospel today from 6:00-7:00pm. Please remember to bring your water.
Attention Cross country parents: We have elected to change practice times and location due to the heat this time of year. We will now meet 6-7pm at The Gospel on Tuesday and Thursday evenings starting Thursday, September 2nd (this will be a great opportunity for race course preview Friday). We are excited about this change and believe it will be much more enjoyable for everyone. Please make arrangements for after school pick up these days and we will see you in the evening instead!
New Morning Carline Procedure…..We will begin allowing parents to pull through the gate in the morning before 7:20. However, NO child will exit their vehicle until a duty teacher signals for students to exit their vehicle at 7:20. We are trying to help get everyone unloaded between 7:20-7:45.
Carline is getting better. However, we still have a few students saying their goodbyes and not being ready to exit the vehicle. Please encourage your child to be ready. Also parents, as your child walks into the building, please pull forward immediately to allow for the next set of students to unload.
Pre-k-2nd grade Open House is tomorrow. It will begin at 5:30 in the gym.
Pre-K to 2nd will have Open House this Tuesday 5:30-7. We will begin in the gym.
Our carline is getting better every day. The tardy bell rings at 7:45. If you child is not out of the car by 7:45, you will need to come into the office with your child and sign them in beginning Monday.
Please have your child with his/her backpack and lunchbox in hand ready to exit the car when the car stops. Signing folders and goodbye hugs need to be done before the car stops. To keep your child safe, we ask that all students exit on the passenger side of the vehicle.
Have a great weekend!
Car Line help needed…..
Please make sure your child’s 1st and last name are written on the yellow car tags. Also if your child is in pre-k or K please write that at the top of the tag. Keep tags in view of all carline teachers to aid in getting your child loaded quickly and safely.
Tuesday, Aug.24, 3rd-6th grade will have Open House from 5:30-7:00. We will meet in the gym first and then you will be dismissed to the grade level teachers. Mask must be worn at all times. If possible to reduce the number of people, we encourage only parents attend.
Cross country practice will begin tomorrow after school. If you signed your child up with Coach Herbert or Mrs. Murphy, there is no reason to let the office know. However, if you haven’t signed up yet but want him/her to run please call the office before 10 tomorrow. Cross country is for K-6th grade.
The fire alarm was pulled, there was no fire. We are now loading buses. Sorry for the delay in carline dismissal.
