Good afternoon! We have a lot of fun events happening this week!
1) This week is Wellness Week! Each day has a theme and is a dress-up day.
Monday - Meditate Monday - Wear "comfy" clothes, sweats, or school-approved jeans/shorts and shirts
Tuesday - Terrific Tuesday - Wear bright colors, neon, or your favorite color
Wednesday - Whacky Wednesday - Wear whacky socks, clothes, or hair
Thursday - Thirsty Thursday - Wear blue for hydration
Friday - Fitness Friday - Wear a spirit shirt or any previous years' Field Day Shirt
2) The Summer Send-Off is this Tuesday, May 6th, from 4:30 to 6:00. Come have fun, engage in educational games, and receive summer resources.
3) Field Day - Field Day is this Friday, May 9th. Parents are invited to attend Field Day with their students. The times are listed below:
Kindergarten: 8:30 - 10:00
First Grade: 10:15 - 11:45
Second Grade: 12:00 - 1:30

April is Autism Acceptance Month! Students are encouraged to wear red this Friday, April 25th, in recognition of Autism Acceptance Month!

Good afternoon,
We will be conducting the DIBELS assessment this week. Testing will begin promptly at 8:00 AM. We are excited to see the progress that the students have made this year! We want all of your students to test at their full potential. Please help us by making sure that students get a good night sleep each night and are at school on time. If a student is sick, we will conduct makeups next week.

Second Grade Parents:
Cypress Springs will host an Open House on April 8th for our second-grade students who will be transitioning to third grade next year. The Open House will be from 4:30 to 6:00.
Incoming Kindergarten Parents:
Glen View will host an Open House for incoming Kindergarten students for the 2025-2026 school year. This will allow students to see the school and meet some teachers. Open House will be on April 8th, from 4:30-6:00.

Spring Pictures are this Thursday, March 28th. Packets are going home today. Only students who purchase pictures will have their pictures taken. Students who purchase pictures can wear school-appropriate clothes to school for pictures that day. Due to the use of a green screen, students should not wear green for their pictures.

We hope everyone has a great Spring Break next week! We'll see our gators back at school on Monday, March 24th!

Reminder:
Students will not have school on 2/13, 2/14, or 2/17. Students will return to school on Tuesday, February 18th.

IMPORTANT - All Lincoln Parish schools will be closed tomorrow, January 10th, due to the potential for severe winter weather. This will be a virtual day for students. Students can complete any work sent home and return it to school on January 13th.

We look forward to seeing you all this week at our Christmas Programs. Please enter the building at the gym entrance (not by the office). We will open the doors approximately 20 minutes before the beginning of each program. If you check your students out after the program, the absence will not count against them. You can sign them out with their homeroom teacher. The times and dates for each program are listed below:
Kindergarten - December 17th @ 8:30
First Grade - December 18th @ 1:00
Second Grade - December 17th @ 10:00
***First Grade will be leaving for a field trip tomorrow at 8:15. Please do not park in the bus line tomorrow.***

Thank you for attending our Literacy Night! As mentioned, all students who had parents in attendance will receive a jeans pass for a week. The jeans pass will be for the week of November 11th, as next week is Red Ribbon Week, and the following week is a short week due to the election.

A few reminders...
*Literacy Night is tonight from 5:30-6:30 in the Glen View Gym. This event is intended to inform parents about our new reading curriculum. We will give out jeans passes to all students whose parents attend.

Students will not have school on Friday, October 4th. This is considered a virtual day. Teachers will send home some assignments that students can work on at home. Also, we will be on fall break next week. Students will return to school on Monday, October 14th.

Good evening! Just in case you did not receive the flyer that was sent home, this Friday is "Rock the School" day. Students will do extra fun and engaging activities while at school. Our theme is "Rock Stars." Students can dress up as rock stars on this date. They can also wear traditional uniform dress or jeans and spirit gear. Jeans will be free this Friday!

We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow at Meet the Teacher Night. Come to the school to meet your teacher, drop off school supplies, fill out back-to-school paperwork, and gather information about our school. Kindergarteners are invited to attend from 3:00 to 5:00, and first and second graders are invited to attend from 4:00 to 6:00. We are so excited to see the 2024-2025 Gators!
